Product Description

3M Glass Cloth Electrical Tape 27 is a white woven glass-cloth electrical tape with single-coat thermosetting rubber PSA, linerless. It is built for 600 V dry service needing high mechanical strength and high-temperature stability: motor/transformer coil outerwrap, layer/crossover/core insulation, anchoring/banding, motor-lead splices, furnace/oven controls, switches and high-temperature wire harnesses. The glass cloth will not shrink, rot or burn; the thermosetting rubber applies at room temperature and further cures with heat. Continuous operation ≤150°C UL, 130°C CSA; flame-resistant, edge-tear resistant, abrasion resistant and printable.

Applications

• Motor coil outerwrap: dry stator/rotor coil overall wrap as primary or reinforcement insulation; half-lap to prevent loosening.
• Layer/crossover/core insulation: transformer/reactor layer, turn-crossover and core-window padding; voltage-proof, abrasion-proof, no shift.
• Anchoring and banding: winding end-turns, leads and magnet-wire bundles anchored with narrow 27 strips instead of cord/wire; heat-stable.
• Motor-lead splices: 600 V dry motor outlets, terminals and flexible lead joints in ≥2 half-lap layers for hot zones.
• Furnace/oven controls: induction/resistance furnace power leads, thermostat switches, contactor leads; thermally stable and flame-resistant.
• Switches and apparatus: breakers, starters, heater controls and industrial control-panel hot-node insulation reinforcement.
• High-temp harness protection: furnace, dryer, foundry/injection auxiliary wiring outerwrap; resists abrasion, heat radiation and edge wear.
• Electrical maintenance/retrofit: rewound motors, field 600 V dry splice repair, printed coil ID and traceable wrap.
