Product Description

3M™ 950 is an unsupported adhesive-transfer film—no PET/foam/cloth/paper carrier, only 3M™ Adhesive 300 fibered medium-firm acrylic PSA on a tan release liner, total 0.13mm/5mil without liner. It is built for very high initial tack across HSE and LSE substrates: metal, glass, ABS, PC, PP and other low-energy plastics, textured plastics, foam, fabric and coated paper, used for film/foil/fabric splicing, foam/photo/nameplate lamination and permanent graphic overlay/rating-plate/trim bonding. The medium-firm acrylic flows slightly under pressure to fill ~0.05mm texture without adding carrier caliper; short term 121°C/250°F, long term 70°C/158°F, low limit −40°C, with UV/water (100h room-temperature immersion retained)/high-humidity/oil/mild-acid-alkali resistance, UL 969, MIL‑P‑19834B and selected automotive-OEM specs. It fills fine texture better than thin transfer films, adds no thickness vs PET double-coats, and is higher-tack/LSE-oriented than 100MP high-temp transfer such as 9460PC.

• Unsupported 5mil high-tack: pure Adhesive 300 at 0.13mm, linerless-bond after release with no PET/foam caliper; fills texture better than 9460PC (0.05mm) and more foam/LSE-oriented than thin graphic acrylics.
• HSE+LSE universal: stainless 72h 9.4N/cm, PP 6.6→6.8N/cm, ABS 3.7→4.4N/cm; metal/glass/ABS/PC/PP/textured plastic/coated paper with less primer than general 200-series acrylic.
• Fine-texture, foam/fabric friendly: medium-firm fibered acrylic flows under pressure to fill ~0.05mm profile without piercing foam; laminates foam/wool/nonwoven/fabric/photo more conformably than hard 100MP unsupported film.
• 60# liner, conversion-ready: glassine/DK tan, good die-cut/slitting without curl; better waste than film-linered pure adhesive, thinner than PCK heavy liner.
• Water/humidity/UV stable: 100h room-temperature water immersion retained, 7 days at 90℉/90%RH no significant loss, outdoor nameplate/trim UV-OK; more stable than paper/rubber transfer, cleaner than liquid.
• 121 short / 70 long broad use: −40 to 121°C short, 70°C long for graphics/nameplates/automotive-interior/medical-industrial; hotter than office transfer, cooler than 9460PC/100MP high-temp.
• compliant generalist: UL 969 nameplate/label reference, MIL‑P‑19834B, GM 9985281, automotive OEM HMS 20‑1996 where specified; more production-ready than temporary tape.
• Carrier-free no edge: clear pure adhesive under thin nameplate/overlay/photo shows no PET edge and adds no stack; thinner/cleaner than PET double-coat, no cure/ooze vs liquid.

Applications
 

• Nameplates/rating plates/graphic overlays: metal/plastic nameplates, equipment rating plates, appliance/medical/industrial overlay on metal, painted, PP/ABS LSE with high initial tack and no lift.
• Film/foil/fabric splicing: packaging/label films, thin copper/aluminum foil, nonwoven/textile web butt splicing; 5mil pure adhesive adds no caliper or machine jam.
• Foam/gasket lamination: EVA/PE/polyurethane thin foam, dust foam, seal strip converted to self-adhesive; fills micro-porosity without piercing, more conformable than hard film.
• Photo/display/print: photos, POP, exhibits, printed/coated-paper lamination; clear no PET edge, indoor/outdoor graphic by UV review.
• Automotive/transport details: interior trim, foam/felt, sensor small parts, OEM assist (HMS 20‑1996/GM 9985281 by spec); not primary for hot exterior high-temp parts.
• Electronics/appliance plastics: ABS/PC/PP housings, membrane switches, insulator/light-mask small pieces, light component mount with HSE/LSE grip and thin profile.
• Furniture/wood/paper: veneer trims, coated paper, labels, foam bumpers, fabric edges; fibered acrylic friendly to paper/wood/coated stock.
• General industrial conversion: metal/plastic dissimilar small bonds, sample books, filter media, conductive/thermal thin pads as assist adhesive; replaces some liquid glue and thin double-coat.
