Product Description

3M Scotch 8915 Clean Removal is a single-coat filament-reinforced tape, total 0.15mm/6mil, with a clear biaxially oriented polypropylene (BOPP/Scotchpro) film and continuous glass-yarn reinforcement, one-side pressure-sensitive synthetic-rubber-resin adhesive; standard 3in core, commonly 55m/60yd (some SKUs 110m). It is built for high tensile, low elongation, nick/abrasion/moisture resistance and clean removal on most finishes: temporary holding of appliance/electronic parts during make-and-ship, heavy/light carton closure, pallet stabilization, medium-heavy bundling of pipe/metal/furniture/automotive items and easy-open tear strips. It has far higher tensile than plain BOPP packing tape, is thinner/clearer than cloth duct, and avoids sharp edges vs steel/strap while still running by hand or dispenser.

Features

• Glass-yarn longitudinal ultra-high tensile: 298N/cm/2980N/100mm, elongation only 3% for pipe/metal/appliance-door bundling with almost no stretch or slack; far stronger/directionally stiffer than plain BOPP packing tape, less creep than cloth.
• Synthetic-rubber high tack plus clean removal: steel 180° peel 6.5N/cm/60oz; bonds fiberboard/rigid plastic/painted metal/glass/bare metal instantly and removes in one piece with little residue/stain on most finishes—better aging than hot-melt filament, more finish-friendly than some aggressive rubber cloth.
• BOPP clear, abuse-resistant, moisture-resistant: nick/puncture does not propagate full break; rougher transit, damp areas and cold-adjacent use vs kraft/paper no water wrinkle, clearer/more scuff-resistant than plain film.
• 0.15mm thin, no gap build-up: thinner than cloth/heavy strap, softer than steel/PP strap; temporary hold of appliance doors/drawers/shelves/cables without wedging; hand/dispenser, no sharp strap edges.
• Anti-nick, anti-propagation: BOPP plus glass yarn keeps strength after minor cuts on rough cartons, metal edges and pipe transit; still use edge protectors on sharp corners.
• Medium-heavy bundling generalist: carton closure, L-clip reinforcement, pallet unitizing, pipe/profile/hardware/furniture/automotive/sport/food-machine runs can replace part of steel/heavy strap; safer than steel, no slack like cord, no flow like hot-melt.
• Temporary hold across industries: appliance make-and-ship doors/shelves/drawers/accessories, electronic goods temporary bundling, metal-shop kit grouping with shock/transit holding power far above crepe/office tape.
• Linerless long roll, efficient: 55m/110m, 3in core multi-width, 24-month shelf, 4–27°C general storage; simpler than linered conversion tape for daily lines, lighter than specialty filament grades.
